This article explains everything you need
to do to restore your live database and
system files on your local server. It is
assumed that you have setup and installed
the 3f Software Planner on your own
server. If you have not setup your system
yet, please refer to the
installation guide. The download
location for the server file
is in the email send to
you when you purchased 3f Software
Planner.
It takes up to 48 hours from the time when
you purchase your server until the your
live database and support files needed to
restore the hosting environment on your
own sever are ready.
Setting up the System
1. Unzip
Open the zip file send to you.
2. Restore Files
The image below shows the mapping you will
need to do manually.
2.1 Copy all files and folders in the
3fUplodadDownload folder into the
3fUploadDownload folder found in the
'pages' sub folder where the 3f Software
Planner is installed. These folders are
used to save all uploaded files. (Note:
Copy the everything even if you have not
uploaded any files, the folder structure
is needed by 3f Software Planner)
2.2 Copy the UserLogos to the UserLogos
folder found under the report folder. This
folder custom any custom logo's you may
have uploaded to the server.
2.3 Copy the database backup file to a
separate folder i.e.
c:\db
2.4 Copy the content of XML folder to any
folder you want. These are all the XML
files you may have exported through XML
Central. When you host the 3f Software
Planner yourself, you are allowed to place
that folder anywhere you like.

2. Restore Database
Now that the file structure has been
restored it is time to restore the
database.
2.1 Start the database manager. We will
use the database manager to import and
restore the database.

2.2 Login
Before we can import the database we must
log in. Unless you have changed your
database password the login is "123".
Enter your password then click "Next"

2.3 Choose Procedure
Once you have logged in, choose your
procedure. Since we are going to restore a
database please choose "Restore Database"

2.4 Restore
Enter the restore key in the Restore Key
field then enter the entire path including
database file name. Click Restore Database
to commence the operation.

2.5 Restore Warning
You will receive a warning after the
database has been restored saying that the
database you restored is from a different
system. This warning is correct because
your database was, until now, licensed to
be used on one of our hosting servers.
Click the OK button to close the warning.

Get the Installation Key
The installation
key must be submitted to us in order for us to generated your registration
key.
1. Start the Registration utility
2. Get installation key
The Installation Key is used by us to create the
Registration Key.
2.1 Click the button "Generated
Installation Key".

2.2 From the subsequent dialog box, copy
the entire key either by highlighting it,
or clicking the button "Copy to
clipboard".

3. Installation key submission.
To submit
the installation key go to:
http://www.3fsoftwareplanner.com/submit/
Once we have received your installation
key we will process your registration key
within 48 hours. Note that the system will
run for 3 days without a registration key.
